This past week was one I will never forget.

After months of preparation, advocacy, and behind-the-scenes work, the Screen Guardians Program officially kicked off—not quietly, and not in just one place. What began as a vision is now in active implementation, across a growing, multi-state network of schools and communities ready for change.

We are currently piloting in:

• A public school district serving K–12 students

• Two private schools serving K–8

• Two additional schools currently on the waitlist

This is no longer theoretical.

This is real-world rollout.

This is community engagement in motion.

And it’s needed.

Why Screen Guardians Exists

Children today are growing up inside environments filled with constant digital noise—phones, notifications, social media, and platforms designed to compete for their attention.

Screen Guardians exists to protect what matters most:

• Focus

• Learning

• Mental health

• Safety

• Human connection

This program isn’t about fear. It’s about education, empowerment, and prevention—giving students, families, and schools the tools they need to build healthy, safe relationships with technology.

A Week That Changed Everything

Here’s what the kickoff week looked like:

🚗 14 hours of driving to Western Kansas to launch our first district implementation

🎤 4 in-person presentations

🏫 3 of those presentations were for parents and teachers beginning Screen Guardians this month

😭 3 people cried tears of joy knowing this program was coming to their school

🏛 1 stop at the State Capitol to testify on a Senate Bill addressing cell phones and social media in schools

⏱ 0 minutes of downtime—because this mission matters

It was exhausting.

It was emotional.

It was sacred.

This Is More Than a Program—It’s a Journey

At the heart of Screen Guardians is advocacy for critical thinking, real-life experiences, and the understanding that digital health and safety is not a one-time lesson—it’s a journey.

It requires ongoing practice, reflection, and reinforcement.

When children hear the same language, expectations, and values from their trusted adults—parents, teachers, coaches, administrators, and community leaders—it reduces anxiety, decreases uncertainty, and builds confidence. This shared approach strengthens not only individual families, but entire school communities, creating cohesion, clarity, and long-term success around the initiative.

This is how real change happens.

Community Engagement Is the Foundation

Screen Guardians is not something we “drop into” schools.

It’s something we build with them.

That’s why each pilot includes the launch of a Community Task Force, made up of parents, educators, mental health professionals, administrators, and local leaders.

These task forces exist to:

• Support parent education

• Create shared standards around digital safety

• Strengthen school-family communication

• Advocate for healthier learning environments

• Ensure long-term sustainability

This is not top-down.

This is collaborative.

This is community-powered.

What the Screen Guardians Program Teaches

Our K–12 curriculum is developmentally designed and includes:

🧠 Brain-based digital wellness

💬 Emotional awareness & connection

🛡 Online safety & real-world risks

📱 Social media literacy

🔍 Critical thinking in digital spaces

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent education through our Parent Portal

🤝 School-family collaboration

This isn’t a one-time assembly.

It’s a 14-week structured program designed to create lasting impact.

From the Classroom to the Capitol

One of the most meaningful moments this week was testifying at the State Capitol on legislation addressing phone and social media use in schools.

This work lives at the intersection of:

• Education

• Child development

• Mental health

• Policy

• Family systems

Policy matters—but education matters just as much.

We are advocating for learning environments where:

• Kids can focus

• Teachers can teach

• Classrooms are protected

• Childhood is preserved

Gratitude & Faith For The Screen Guardians Program

This work is heavy.

It’s emotional.

It’s deeply personal.

And I thank God daily for allowing me to walk in this calling.

This is more than a program.

It’s a mission.

And this is only the beginning.
